Getting Ready, Part 1

On February 19 & 20 team leaders from North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Texas, New Mexico, and Louisiana gathered together to begin their plans for traveling to Ukraine (and one team to Latvia) this summer. Each of these incredible individuals are dedicated to the task and passionate about sharing God’s words not only with children, but staff and interpreters this summer.

The team leaders represent seven teams. I’d like to ask you to pray for them by team. Pray they raise their funds, pray their hearts and minds will be prepared, and pray they will go in the power and strength of God.

Here are the teams:

Team Agape (hosted by the Bammel Church in Houston, TX). They travel to the Ivano Frankivsk region in Ukraine. Theirs is the third session of Camp Smerichka.

Team Hope (hosted by the Crestmont Church in Pottstown, PA). This team is sort of an “auxiliary” to our program. They utilize our materials but serve orphanages near Riga, Latvia.

Team Imagine (hosted by the Southside Church in Fort Worth and the South Fork Church in Winston-Salem, North Carolina). They will be in the Rivne region near Ostroh, Ukraine. The camp they serve is Camp Korchaginets.

Team Mayak (hosted by the Southwest Church in Amarillo). They travel to the Poltava region of central Ukraine where they serve a camp dedicated primarily to orphans: Camp Mayak.

Team Mudbugs (hosted by the White’s Ferry Road Church in West Monroe, LA). This is a brand new team who will be serving a camp in the Lviv region of Ukraine. The camp is new for us and it’s name is Camp Druzhba (friendship).

Team Roza (hosted by the Glenwood Church in Tyler, TX). Roza also works in the region of Ivano Frankivsk at Camp Edelweiss.

Team Spirit (hosted by the Burleson Church in Burleson, TX). Spirit will be working in the first session of Camp Smerichka in the Ivano Frankivsk region of Ukraine.

These leaders represent nearly 60 people who will be traveling this year. They will pair up with teams of interpreters and together they will share their lives with kids (and staff) and share character lessons from the Bible. Their work is powerful and meaningful. And it touches lives. For good.
