How to be lit on fire….

Let me just start by saying that I haven’t actually physically been lit on fire besides the times I’ve burned myself cooking or the time the gas in the fireplace decided to flame away my eyelashes, eyebrows, and some of my hair… I haven’t actually been completely submerged in the flames. 

However, I have been lit on fire many times in my life by these people that carry these torches and quite literally if you stand too close to them you will be swept away in the flames of their passions.

I love the fire starters, the torch carriers. 

These people get me. They are closest to my heart. They’ve been lit on fire and they passionately light other people on fire for the greater good. They don’t apologize for loving people with their whole being. They just do it and they do it with so much joy and commitment that you too start to spread the fire. 

I’d like to say thank you for those who’ve lit up the trail and who continue on so effortlessly catching people’s hearts and pointing them in the direction of love. Love is the answer. It catches people off guard. It sacrifices and forgives. Love doesn’t keep score because it’s too busy caring more for others. There is no ego attached. It’s puts up with anything and at the same time looks for the very best in others. 

The fire starters who’ve lit me on fire repeatedly care far more for the futures of “our children” than anything else. They are compassionate and honest and focused on changing the world. These people reside on all parts of the planet. They are American teachers, doctors, lawyers, business men… they are Ukrainian and German and from all political parties … They are all the people that pour themselves completely into the one belief that we are all called to this task, to change the world, and I am with them 100%. And I too am a shameless, reckless, fire starter.

The people that I love on both sides of this planet want to catch you on fire. 

They don’t want to burn your house down, singe your hair and eyebrows off: they want to catch your soul on fire with the deepest love possible for all children. 

I want to throw you a little warning here… Once you’ve become lit on fire you cannot be unlit. You are forever changed. People will talk about you, talk about your craziness…

And people will be lit on fire because of you.
